Scarlett and babies day 25

Well, Scarlett's babies were 5 weeks old Saturday. They will be going on Monday to get their first vaccinations and Scarlett will be spayed. Please do keep them all in your prayers.

Scarlett is looking amazing. Her hair is growing in so well and it looks like those extra vitamins are really paying off. She's spending more time away from the babies and they are loving their puppy mush. They are eating and drinking most of the time, with a little nursing on the side.

Several people have asked about donations for Scarlett and babies. There are a couple of ways to donate:
1- send your donation to our treasurer at

Scarlett and babies
c/o Gulf Coast Dachshund Rescue
2741 Meadowood Dr
Slaughter, LA 70777

2- PayPal to agileollie@yahoo.com

Some are also asking when Scarlett and babies will be available for adoption. The puppies will not be able to go to their new homes until they are spayed and neutered. That should be when they around 3 months old, which is December or so. We are considering to begin accepting applications for them in the next couple of weeks, and once those applications are approved, a non-refundable deposit will be required. That deposit will go toward the adoption fee once the pups are ready.

Scarlett will be ready for adoption around the end of November to the middle of December, depending on the puppies' readiness to be away from mom. I want them to get as much socialization as possible from her.

Enjoy the pictures!

JULIE
Julie is a sweetheart. Her tail never stops wagging. She absolutely adores my 7 month old son. She, like all the others, loves to follow you everywhere. She is the smallest of the litter.

They are so beautiful...I hope that they all find homes quickly. Every time I play your video, it strikes me how much you sound like me...this time the dogs reacted, so they think so too! LOL
